Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and songwriter. Raised by her mother in the USA she had to face a lot of racial taunts that made her feel being unwelcome. In the 9th grade, she started to feel more confident when she was applauded by her teachers for her performance at school's audition. It not only increased her confidence but her ambitions were changed. In 1992, she received her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot, she played the role of Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. The following year she was made the lead character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. An accomplished singer She has also recorded songs as well as an extensive work. She is also an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
