Ina Garten is an American author of cookbooks on cooking and Emmy Award-winning host for Food Network's longest-running program Barefoot Contessa which began broadcasting in 2002, has 27 seasons until 2020. Ina Garten began her career as a journalist at the White House where she wrote the nuclear energy policy and budget papers. Although she initially found it fascinating, eventually she became bored. She then bought an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food store. It took her nearly 18 years to turn the store into hugely successful, and then sold it. She then began to write one of her cookbooks. Several other books and magazine articles followed. Meanwhile, her Food Network television show too was launched and quickly became an instant hit. The range of products includes appliances for kitchens to ingredient as well as storage containers. Ina has never been to any cookery schools or worked in a restaurant and is completely self-taught. Her relaxed approach to entertaining and her easy cooking style are well known. She is known for her quick and easy recipes, such as Skillet of Roasted Lemon Chicken, Macaroni and Cheese using Beef Bourguignon as well as Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
